Designing Power Solutions:

​

Monteva’s team provides full-service power plant design, procurement and construction to meet customers’ needs. Our team approaches a new or expansion project with an independent eye and project success mindset. We help our customers evaluate the best type of equipment for the project, taking into account capital, construction and life cycle costs.

This evaluation process can include both new and previously-owned equipment. If a fast-track schedule is required, our team can identify and recommend the equipment available in the marketplace. This process includes on-site surveys, full overhauls or upgrades if required, preservation, and removal and relocation of equipment.

Upgrades and Life Extension:

Monteva provides Upgrades and Life Extension program that includes a comprehensive range of products and services designed to deliver improved performance and output, plant availability, reliability & flexibility. We have the expertise in reverse engineering.

Turbomachinery owners and operators modify and upgrade their existing equipment for a variety of reasons, including changes in environmental regulations, adjustments to the plant’s operating profile, plant relocation, or the creation and/or expansion of available fuel supplies.

Our engineers provide tailor-made solutions, applying new technology to help improve start reliability, thermal efficiency, power output, availability, emissions, fuel efficiency and capital cost savings.

Decommissioning and Relocation:

​

The end of a power plant life cycle presents particular challenges for power plant owners. A power plant can be decommissioned, sold, or relocated, but these solutions require special knowledge of the power industry.

​

Our expert engineers provide decommissioning and storage services. In addition, Monteva’s team provides turnkey relocation services, including the removal from the original site, transport to a new location, and reinstallation at a new site. Upgrades and conversions are also available, completing the lifecycle with a return to service of a more efficient, more reliable, and more economical power plant.

  Represented the project owners in the project development.
   

• Sarnia Cogen Plan (Gas) + Popular Creek Cogen Plant – Ontario, Canada
  Major project maintenance, planning and execution. Implemented modifications, improvements and parts replacement.
   

• Sundance 7 (700MW Combined Cycle on Gas) – Kapasiwin, Alberta, Canada
  Front end project development, selection of technology, evaluation of EPC contracts and construction planning.
   

• Wind Farm Construction - New Brunswick and Alberta, Canada
  Manager responsible for the engineering and construction of the following wind farms in New Brunswick and Alberta working for TransAlta:

  Provided O & M services to Manitoba Hydro, six generating stations and 4000MW capacity. Provided commissioning services, operation and maintenance services, performance testing in accordance with FERC requirements and testing equipment reliability.
   

• NB Power - New Brunswick, Canada 
  Engineer conducted a condition assessment of 660MW Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station in New Brunswick as part of Point Lepreau refurbishment Project team (I & C Team)
   

• Ministry of Oil – Iraq
  Procurement, Installation and commissioning of 24 Rolls Royce Avon gas turbines for the 1000km strategic oil pipeline
   

• Faisalabad Steam Power Station (132MW) – Pakistan
